2004 finds "Captain Rutherford," photo above, a 4th Division Army Captain Golden Teddy Award Nominee. The 4th Division's motto is "Steadfast and Loyal" and certainly Captain Rutherford, is "Steadfast and Loyal."

First, let me start by saying, I am truly blessed by God to be able to happily work fulltime within the world of Artist Bears. I so enjoy my work and so to God goes all glory and praise.
I cannot remember a time when I was not creating something, drawing in my sketch books, sculpting something from Cernit or clay or even building furniture. Seeing the "Bruin Beings" evolve from pieces and parts of different materials still remains exciting.
Each bruin that I birth is a One Of A Kind. I have always thought of them as individuals, each with their own countenance and persona and each reflecting a piece of my soul and so I call them my "Bruin Beings" and "Old Souls." I love costuming with vintage attire and vintage accessories. I fondly remember my daughter and her best friend playing dress up when they were young, and the memories are so precious. My bears do love to play dress up, or is it that I love to dress them up, surely both! My real true love does belong to my "Old Souls," A reflection of Love "Bruin Beings." I've always been told that I have an old soul and for me there is an endearing quality to those things that have a well loved appearance. I am fond of antiques and my personal collection is vintage bears.
There is such an endless array of mediums from which a bear can evolve, short, long, curly, sparse, dense, straight and wavy are only a hint of what is available in category mohair alone. It is therefore understandable that each "Bruin Being" coming from this diversity cannot help but acquire their own unique One Of A Kind individuality.
I view each "Bruin Being" as an Original Piece Of Art that requires my total devotion, patience and personal attention to detail for each and every bear. I strive to embody in each bear a kind of magic and bestow within them a countenance that makes each Simply Victoria "Bruin Being" uniquely yours to love. In my heart to offer an original means that I am the one required to create the entire piece of art. How else can it be offered as truly original art from an artist.
Each Simply Victoria "Bruin Being" has always come with their own unique personalized set of signed identification tags and certificates. This will never change, it is a personal signature part of each Simply Victoria "Bruin Being" and it assures you the collector that you do have a true Simply Victoria "Bruin Being" or "Old Soul."

As for Teddy Bear Recognition, well, mine is small compared to the true pioneers in the Teddy Bear World who have appeared in countless magazines and have achieved many many deserving awards but hopefully it will grow as I continue to grow as an artist.
My "Bruin Beings" have appeared in a Full feature article in Teddy Bear Scene, February 2002 and throughout the remainder of 2002 in additional issues of the really neat and informative Teddy Bear Scene magazine.
Sebastian was and is still thrilled that he was an Industries Choice Award Winner and TOBY Nominee in 2002 while another sibling, Grimaldi appeared in an Australian publication 2002.
Valentino was on the Cover of Teddy Bear Scene in February 2003 and Ceejay Quinn is honored and proud to be this years 2003 Industries Choice Award Winner and TOBY Nominee. Thimbletoes, another sibling, equally proud, finds that he is this years 2003 Golden Teddy Nominee.
Maverick, the adventuring vintage pilot is now officially a "2003 TITA Award Winner." He is now home from a very happy visit to Japan. I am so overwhelmed and honored to have won this Prestigious Award!
Prue, Fred and several other "Bruin Beings" have taken highest bid honors at many charity auction events.
I have also advertised a little and perhaps not enough in Teddy Bear magazines but many of you know me from my Teddy Bear Auctions on Ebay.
Along with Maverick's Win, A few of his sibling "Bruin Beings" were happy to appear in an article in the most recent June Issue 26, 2003 of the Japan Fan Club Teddy Bear Magazine.
I feel it wouldn't be right if I didn't take a moment of your time to thank the collectors who purchased and loved my very first attempts at bear making. Were it not for them I could not have continued to evolve within my art, nor would I or the (Ever Evolving) "Bruin Beings" be here today.
